The Lung Disease Foundation of Central PA was formed as a non-profit corporation in 2013 by George M. Zlupko, M.D., FCCP., to focus on education and the high tech development of pulmonary services in Central PA. The Foundation is a major supporting element of the Lung Disease Center, as well as a willing partner to other local organizations involved in improving the services for lung disease patients in the region. The Foundation provides educational resources such as printed material, events, a speaking series and presentations.

LEARN MOREAs the Tobacco Control Services Provider for Blair and Bedford Counties, the Lung Disease Foundation of Central PA is aimed with providing prevention, education, and tobacco cessation programs, as well as working to eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke.
LEARN MOREGeorge M. Zlupko, M.D., FCCP. founded the Altoona Lung Specialists practice in 1977 in Altoona, Pennsylvania and then went on to form the Lung Disease Foundation of Central PA in 2013 and is the Chairman of the Foundation Board.
Dr. Zlupko writes a weekly column, “Ask The Specialist”, which is published in the Altoona Mirror featuring up-to-date news and advice on lung health. Dr. Zlupko is renowned on the East Coast as a guest lecturer/speaker for medical professionals on subjects ranging from COPD and Lung Disease to smoking cessation.
